5 In that city light and dark were considered good and evil.
2 In that city the sun rose and fell at the same hour every day of the year, and the people who owned walls retreated at dusk and sheltered themselves from temptation.
3 The morning light brought violins and fresh kale, time to spend in the garden, and classes on moral obligation.
4 Temptation was specified as an entity of the past and the library had shelves filled with the darkness of the city’s history.
5 Myth surrounded those shelves.
6 And those shelves had many layers.
7 Circles of hidden texts bound tight lay behind others containing acts of abominations.
8 And those books were the pillar of the city.
9 Pew fronts were filled with The Book—a book with an endless number of pages.
10 A book containing circuitry with enough memory to continually expand.
11 Sermons were drawn from the text and hymns sung by a surrounding choir of thirty-six.
12 Sin was completely denied.
13 Marriage was sacred. Families were sacred.
14 And the land and the skin upheld.
